It is my pleasure to recognize Jane Horky. I am always impressed with the exceptional quality of care Jane provides to her patients, specifically her work as a charge nurse is towering. Jane's attention to detail is highlighted by the way she prepares for her shift. She arrives early, coordinates her assignment with a quick review of her patients' charts, and a report from the off-going charge nurse. She supports the beginning of her shift with a quick staff huddle and creates an open dialog with the ICU area of the third floor.
Jane's high-quality care is demonstrated daily, however, recently when caring for a challenging behavioral health patient. Jane was able to decelerate the patient's behavior, by changing staff assignments to best meet the needs of our patient. Recognizing that each patient has individual needs not only best served the patient but assured the staff had a safe environment to work in. Jane fosters good will at all levels, many times posts prayers and encouraging messages for staff. Demonstrates positive resilience to those she works with and goes out of her way to daily extend the healing ministry of Christ.
