This is just a small example of how amazing AnnMarie is with all her patients! We had a patient in the medical profession on 10A that got a devastating diagnosis. They were facing a Bone Marrow transplant and were trying their best to cope. They were struggling to cope, and I decided to make a call to AnnMarie. She was not working that day and was out spending the day with her Mom. I told her the story. She had never met the patient. She dropped all her plans and came to the hospital to talk to the family and the patient. She spent a long time with them.
See, AnnMarie had been through a bone marrow transplant herself and could speak from experience and from the heart about this terrifying ordeal. The patient was later transferred to UAMS to start their treatment plan. The patient called me and told me how overwhelming and amazing it was to them that AnnMarie would come to the hospital on her day off just to ease their pain and fears. She gives all she has and then reaches down and gives a little more to all her patients every day. We are blessed to have her on our team.
