Candy is a nurse like no other. She embraces and exemplifies the characteristics of the MemorialCare iABC's with an emphasis on compassion. Kindness and compassion have long been associated with the nursing profession and Candy naturally displays both qualities. Candy doesn't see nursing as merely "caring for patients", she sees it as improving the lives of others in any way she can. Her compassion has no boundaries. She spends valuable moments at her patient's bedside; talking, connecting with, feeding and holding their hands. It is traditional nursing at its finest. The compassion I have witnessed her display allows her patients to feel well cared for and respected. She is a nurse that truly cares.
Candy is not only a kind and compassionate nurse she is a kind and compassionate friend to nursing students and her coworkers. The statement that describes Candy is, "Never underestimate the power of a kind woman. Kindness is a choice that comes from incredible strength." She is understanding and calm with her interactions with her peers. I marvel at her wisdom.
Recently, I had a personal issue and sought refuge in her. Candy spent her time to mentor and coach me to find a solution and it ended with a gentle prayer. I find her interpersonal skills with both patients and peers amazing. They are natural gifts. Candy is a quiet hero and she elevates the profession of nursing with her kindness and compassion. Thank you, Candy, for inspiring others to be better nurses and to strive for higher levels of humanity. You are Simply Better.
