Stephanie was a Rockstar of a nurse, an angel during our toughest time. Stephanie put our minds at ease, telling the hard truths, yet with compassion. My mom came in from a stroke and brain bleed and her many other health conditions that were hindering a quick recovery. We know the possible grim outcomes, but Stephanie saw some fight still in mom and became her biggest supporter.
While Stephanie was in working on my mom, she would talk to me (or any other family members) to find out more about mom as a person, not just another patient. Through talking, Stephanie found out that we are religious, that mom loves music, loves her grandkids, and will give some attitude when pushed. With this information, she would play "Fishing in the Dark" (mom's favorite song) while giving medicine, washing, or whatever else she does. We noticed after the song mom's spirit just seemed more upbeat. Stephanie would also say a few prayers with mom and found her a set of rosary beads to hold onto.
I could go on and on about how amazing Stephanie is but can sum it up by saying she is an RN Rockstar. The whole family loves her and is so blessed to have gotten to know her. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking care of and loving her. Good luck in all you do!
