Recently, Ms. Prieto had just walked out of my office and noticed a patient leaning against our wall in the administration. She immediately went into action and asked the patient if he was okay and she grabbed a chair for the patient to sit down. The rest of the administrative team responded and the patient was showing signs of having a seizure. A patient assist was called. During that time the patient had had a couple of seizures. The most remarkable thing about the whole situation was that each time Ms. Prieto maintained direct eye contact with the patient and calmed him down to the point that his signs of having a seizure went away. The patient would only maintain eye contact with Ms. Prieto. This was heartfelt and the patient thanked her as he was being transported for further treatment. Ms. Prieto shall now be known as the "Patient Whisperer".
