I was a patient admitted in an emergency situation with a vertebral artery dissection. It was a very stressful and confusing experience. While I received excellent care from everyone, my day nurse, Denise, really stood out as an excellent profound caregiver. She was incredibly kind throughout my ordeal and always ready to compassionately listen to my concerns, fears, and tirades. I was under a great deal of stress and definitely not at my best, yet Denise maintained an air of professionalism that went above and beyond. I felt truly heard and that I had an ally I could rely on. She was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and wise regarding my care.
