Alyssa was phenomenal through A's metabolic crisis. She demonstrated exceptional communication skills paired with compassion that made me feel she advocated for me as a friend would. How could a stranger become a friend through a crisis without possessing the characteristics that are award-winning? My phone dropped, she reached for it. A cried, she was engaged and positive.
Alyssa had multiple tasks, she shared partnership, collaborative efforts, and impressive decision-making skills. She explained medical terminology with ease. She listened, educated, and shared knowledge while transforming my anxieties to assurance because of her genuine interactions.
Alyssa's presence comforted both A and I while we had no family. She was attentive, kind, thoughtful, observant, sympathetic, bright, articulate, and absolutely worthy of this nomination. She made me laugh when I could have easily cried instead.
