My mom was an inpatient for 9+ days, during this time I visited her every day. Myrtue Medical Center employs extraordinary staff who go over and above their job description and there was never a time when there wasn't someone willing to help, no matter how incredibly busy they were. If they said they would be back they came back, with a smile on their face, a positive attitude and a kind word to my mom.
Although everyone was amazing, as a former RN, Deb McNeese stands out. Deb epitomizes Florence Nightingale's pledge by "maintaining and elevating the standards" of her profession and her "devoted service to human welfare".
Deb has a patient caseload as well as charge nurse duties, yet she manages it all with a smile on her face and a positive attitude. She routinely came in to check on my mom, even when she didn't put on her call light, to ensure that she felt safe, cared for, and content.
After the second day, that Deb was my mom's nurse, my mom began referring to Deb as "my favorite nurse".
As a daughter, I can't give Deb enough gratitude for the care she provided to my mom. Deb spoke to my mom, not at her. Deb listened to her and provided care accordingly. Deb made my mom feel respected during a very anxious time.
For this, and so much more, we believe Deb is a true DAISY Nurse.
