Amanda goes above and beyond when caring for her patients. She ensures all patients feel comfortable and cared for while on the unit. She recently purchased pizza for the patients and spent the day outside to complete goal work and groups; in turn, the patients built enough rapport with her to open up about traumatic experiences in their past. Amanda never slacks when performing assessments and spends as much time with the patients as possible since therapeutic communication is vital. She is a nurse whom all staff can count on as a team player, who will help without asking. Amanda was my preceptor and I would recommend her to everyone. She exemplifies a nurse who truly cares for the well being of her patients and will go above and beyond for every patient on the unit. She is approachable and so knowledgeable in her field. She is continuously learning to better her care practices. Each patient I encountered with her recommended her as a nurse.
