I underwent a craniotomy to remove a brain tumor at Swedish's Cherry Hill campus. While at CH I received phenomenal care by a group of talented nurses and caregivers in the Neuro-ICU, and on the Neuro floor. They were all attentive, kind and helpful in my healing. One person, in particular, stands out as someone who took incredible care of me. His name is Solomon.
Solomon is a PACU nurse and while I only vaguely recall what he did to care for me, I clearly recall how he made me feel. He was tender, patient, and very calming. He helped me transition from being under anesthesia in a time that was a bit scary for me as a patient. I knew I might not remember much about what he did, but I made it a point to cement his name in my head so that I could thank him later.
So, Solomon, thanks for the chapstick, the ice chips, the calming energy, and the many things that you did that I cannot recall. You are a true gem and exhibit several of Swedish's values, especially excellence and compassion. I'm proud that you work at Swedish and that we have you caring for our patients when they are so vulnerable. Keep up the good work!
