My brother was admitted to the hospital because of kidney failure. During the Memorial Weekend, he spent 10+ hours in the hot sun. One day he was active, vibrant and in good spirits, the next day he was fighting to stay alive. I live in Florida so when my family called me, I headed to Atlanta to be by his side. I was scared, afraid, and confused. Nurse Oreon demonstrated patience to my brother. Each of the 1000 times he asked for ice, complained about not sleeping, he showed compassion and understanding. When the doctors would "explain" what was going on with my brother, Nurse Oreon would simplify it in a way even a 7-year-old could follow. Understanding made me less stressed. When my brother was moved to the 4th floor, Nurse Oreon would stop by the room to check on ME! His compassion made my/our ordeal bearable.
