Stefanie has dedicated herself to our unit. She is mentioned daily during patient rounds as being a great nurse. Some of the specific statements are: "she has made my stay amazing", "she truly cares for me and my baby", "I don't know how I could have made it through my stay without her", and "If I could have her as my nurse on every floor I would".
Stefanie understands the anxiety of the patients and goes out of her way to ease their minds. She used her own money to purchase art supplies for them for the days the art room is not open. Today she prepared patients a BBQ lunch and cupcakes for dessert. She also made each of them a picture frame for all staff to sign. Stefanie often stays past her shift to ensure these soon to be mothers have everything they need and are comfortable while she is off. She is a true example of a caring and compassionate nurse.
