Loretta was my daughter's nurse while she was in the NICU after being born at 34 weeks. During this time Loretta not only provided my daughter with excellent care but she provided my husband and me a sense of calm that we desperately needed as scared first-time parents. She immediately had an incredible bond with our daughter and it was obvious she made her feel just as calm as she did my husband and me. She was the first one to get our daughter to take a whole feeding by bottle and she continued to do her best every time she was her nurse. She made us feel like our daughter was the only baby in the NICU and told us many times how special she is. Loretta is also extremely patient and answered the many questions I had. She never made us feel like she didn't have time to talk and eased so many of our worries. There are so many things that I love about Loretta but the thing I love most is the way she loved my baby. Every time I entered the room I would hear her talking to her, rubbing her head or find her holding her even while completing her other duties. She even came in on her day off to say goodbye before we were discharged. Anytime we think of the birth of our daughter and her time in the NICU we will think of Loretta. She made the NICU feel like a second home and made us feel like family.
