Brittany was the true meaning of a nurse who gives her all to the patients and then some. I can't tell you enough how she helped my father and our whole family by just being there and keeping us updated on his progress. My dad asked her not to leave him when he was being taken down for brain surgery. She held his hand the whole way down and by my father's request, stayed with him until he was able to go back up to the floor.
My dad is 85 years old and my mom and my brothers live up north some and one in California, so we were unable to be there every day. Brittany went above and beyond to make sure my father wasn't scared and that he knew someone was there with him. She was heading to lunch one day and ask my dad if there was anything he would like from the cafeteria as my dad was not eating much at all. My dad asked her for a cookie, and she spent her own money to get him a cookie and he ate the whole thing. I worked for a hospital and a doctor previously and have never run across a nurse with such compassion and love for her job. I wish there were more nurses like her that care for the patient and the patient's family as she did.
I can't thank Brittany enough for all she did for my father and the support she gave to my family! I was getting ready to go see my dad this past Saturday down at the rehab only to receive a call from Brittany checking up on my dad to see how he was doing! She stated to me that she went to see him when he was still at Henry Ford, but dad was sleeping, and she didn't want to wake him and the next time she came by, but he was already transferred to rehab. Please acknowledge this young lady for all she does as a nurse and such a bright love for her patients and their families! I know myself and my family will never forget all that she did to help my dad! Thank you!
