Our sister who has Down syndrome was a patient at MercyOne for ten days with double pneumonia and congestive heart failure. Our family was to have a family reunion that my sister was looking forward to. She had a hair appointment for that Friday and told Jill that she was missing her appointment. Jill called her guardian and asked if she could cut my sister's hair. When we came to visit that afternoon, we saw Jill cutting my sister's hair. My sister did not make it to the family reunion BUT she did look so cute with her new haircut. Truly this is a nurse who went beyond just caring for her patient and making a huge difference to a patient and her family for outstanding care. As a family, we want to thank Jill for her many acts of kindness and love for my sister. Jill has made a lasting impression on our family and the care MercyOne gives to those in their care.
