I was dealing with a patient with febrile seizures that quickly needed stat care and meds. Being a float (nurse) who never experienced a patient having a long term seizure, Javan stayed by and helped with the flow of my patient's care, from writing the doctor's orders on her board, to making sure we didn't miss anything, to helping with my patient downstairs to get a CT before being transferred to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
Javan had the patience to help walk through things with me during the code and made sure after report and throughout the shift that I was doing okay. The Neuroscience Unit (NSU) is very fortunate to have an amazing nurse and staff on their floor. His presence and competence, especially during a critical time, was so much appreciated, especially floating from another unit.
