Cindi was nominated by a patient who befriended Cindi when she moved in across the street from his home. When the patient started having problems with his left arm and eventually had to have surgery, Cindi was the one who brought him to the hospital on her day off. She even scrubbed in - on her day off - to assist with this patient's surgery. She then sat with the patient in the recovery room and helped him settle into his hospital room.
The following evening, the patient was informed that the infection in his arm was a "mean bug." Cindi was the first person he contacted, and she helped to ease his mind. "It has been, and always will be, such an impression on me that someone who was a stranger six months ago, has become such a friend," the patient said. "Cindi is a caring, knowledgeable nurse. Midland Memorial and Midland, Texas are lucky to have her as a member."
Cindi is looked to as an asset to the Surgery team. Her peers and managers view her as an awesome team player and an overall great nurse.
Because of Cindi's compassionate and caring efforts, her patients experience a level of care that exemplifies the impact nurses have in creating an environment where patients and families feel at home.
