Molly has been a very special nurse to my fiance' who has been battling throat cancer since February. When D comes for his appointments she always greets us with a smile and displays genuine concern for his wellbeing and improvement. She is never in a rush with him. Molly takes whatever time is necessary to make sure D and I leave in a better place than we came in with. She has taken the time to get to know D as a person and not just another patient. She has gone out of her way on many occasions to make sure we got in to see the physician even for a last minute appointment. Molly would often see us late on Fridays because of our schedule. She would always try to accommodate us based on our schedule. She would personally call to check-in on D after a difficult visit. I recall numerous occasions when she went out of her way to make sure D's unique symptoms were attended to. When a remedy wasn't working, she brought in whoever she felt could help D out. As an example, with D's throat cancer he developed very serious burns on his neck. Molly brought in tow burn specialists to make sure they found a solution that would heal the burns. D continues to visit Rush weekly for multiple appointments.
It is now September and we still battle his terrible disease but special people like Molly have made this ongoing journey a little easier with her caring presence and on-going concern for D's wellbeing.
