April was my brother's nurse for three consecutive 12-hour days. She was such a knowledgeable professional who never was hurried, educated the family about my brother's complex health issues, and provided a listening ear about our concerns. She showed compassion for a human being that was so medically fragile. She was a team member with his physician and rehab providers. She was caring and provided excellent care for his specific needs. She also made sure to enter all his medical data as soon as services were completed in her movable computer which accompanied her. She answered questions that we had and took the time to look at family photos of my brother when he was healthy. I cannot say enough times how all the staff members at UNC Rockingham provided excellent care to my brother. Thank you, everyone. I would like to share this beautiful poem:
Nurse—N is for notable, and willing to share; U is for understanding, she really cares; R is for reliable, right from the start; S is for sincere, with a loving heart; E is for energetic, so much to behold. A nurse is a special one more precious than gold.
