My sister who had undergone surgery for a meningioma in mid-March was in the Neurointensive care once again. She was unable to move, was hypersensitive to touch, and had meningitis. It was very difficult for me to see her in that situation. All the staff were good but one of the nurses, Abdel, was exceptional. He went over and beyond to assist her in every possible way and made her feel comfortable. Even in that state, my sister was happy to see him and felt his support. He was very compassionate and committed to providing excellent care. He treated my sister with dignity and compassion. No matter how many times he had to change her he did it very well always with a smile on his face. He comforted her and always made sure that the therapist came in to see her, or the speech therapist came in to do a swallow evaluation so that she could safely have a few spoons of soft food. He comforted me several times when I would hit my low. His commitment and dedication to the patients are second to none. I don't think I will ever forget his kindness and professionalism. He is a true asset to your institution. My heartfelt thanks.
