Amaka is very willing to go above and beyond and does so with a smile. He exercises good nursing judgment and gets along well with others.
Amaka was hired in our department in 2017. Since the moment he joined our team, he has been engaged with all aspects of his job. He is credentialed as a Relief House Supervisor. He will work extra when we are in need. Most recently, he has been filling in as a relief charge nurse on another floor while the regular charge nurse is out on leave. For a PRN Resource RN to graciously do this is well above any expectations. Amaka had EPIC background when he first came on board and was a great help to his coworker during the transition to EPIC. He is highly respected by his Nursing Service Resource Team, co-workers out on the nursing units, and physicians. Amaka is generous with a smile and words of encouragement to others. He is knowledgeable and skilled as an RN and is always available to share that knowledge and lend a helping hand.

Amaka started in our resource department close to a year ago, and we both became relief House Supervisors around the same time. He's always been easy going, and extremely willing to help out and learn throughout the hospital. Recently, he stepped up in a time of need and volunteered to charge on 5A while one of their full-time charge nurses was on maternity leave, along with keeping up his obligation to Nursing Services. One Saturday morning we were particularly short staffed, and I was worried about how I was going to staff the 5th floor. Amaka, who regularly works night shift, volunteered to come in and fill in the gap. After fulfilling his duty on 5A for the day, our night shift house supervisor was feeling very ill and did not think she would be able to make it. Amaka again came to the rescue and covered the House Supervisor role for a few hours until she was able to make it in. These are just a few small examples of ways he has gone above and beyond in his short time here at BSA and I am glad to work next to him.
