I want to acknowledge a nurse who truly exemplifies the caring spirit of nursing, each and every day. She treats every nurse, patient, family member, and staff member like they are the most important and valued person at that moment. She is so kind and giving to her nurses. She bakes for us and makes us tea. Toneya has contributed so much to the wonderful PACU here.

The other day, a nurse called in. She is a diabetic who was experiencing hypoglycemia and was confused. Toneya encouraged her to call 911, but the nurse was having anxiety and issues. Toneya left immediately and went to her home and assessed her and the situation and stayed until the nurse was stable. It is one of the most selfless acts of nursing I have ever witnessed. It came from her heart, caring for her employee and coworker.
