My husband and I were in the Radiation Oncology Department for his initial encounter. Needless to say, we were very nervous and anxious. From the moment we walked in, everyone was so kind, but Kathy went above and beyond. My husband had laughingly told her he hadn't had time to eat anything that day. His appointment was at 2:30, and he worked as long as he could before taking off. The department had an emergency, and our wait time was longer than expected. After letting us know the circumstances Kathy returned with a plate of snacks for us. Not only did she bring treats, but she warmed them up! She checked in on us every few minutes, making sure we had water and everything we might need. She and the doctor answered every question we had and never made us feel like our questions were insignificant. She eased our hearts and minds so much that day. As we left, my husband and I looked at each other and both said, "I feel so much better now." My husband has a long road ahead of him, and I am so thankful we have this wonderful staff to help us through it.
