Today was a very overwhelming day for a total care patient, discharge, a new admission, clogged chest port, insulin drip patient, and taking on a 4th patient because the nurse could only support the unit for 8 hours. She didn't just ask did I need help but she saw me continuously moving and just jumped in to assist with patient care and continued to update me on care provided along with documenting so I could continue to provide other urgent care needs on other patients and my insulin drip patient whose levels continued to drop, needed one on one assistance for a while until stable.
In an industry where we all can get caught up in our day to day tasks, it was surprisingly nice and helpful for her to just step in and help me to continue to provide Emory extraordinary care to our patients and family. As a nurse, I want to say thank you to her for going above and beyond today in helping.
