Earlier this year, my 57-year-old sister had a double heart attack and ultimately passed away. M, my sister's daughter, is very dear to me. M felt so at ease, in Leslie's presence that I never worried. Everyone was amazing there, Leslie was exceptional. She took the time to explain medications, at our level. She was compassionate and very diligent in her job. Some people are born to do things, she is an angel here on Earth. She listened and offered a shoulder to my niece, who had to make the horrific decision to take her mom off life support.
When I left the hospital each night, I knew I left her in capable hands. Leslie has an air about her- knowledgeable, capable, calming and compassionate. My niece opened up and talked with her. Sometimes in life, you need a third party, not involved, to speak your mind and sort out feelings. Making a decision to take a loved one off life support is never easy, so much guilt, so many what if's. Leslie made a trying time in our life easier. She has a kind, open heart, a soft-spoken demeanor, and a tender loving touch anytime she dealt with my sister. I was touched beyond measure, that she showed up at the memorial service, to bring a card. She didn't stay but certainly left a huge impression on us all. She dealt very delicately and professionally with my sister's oldest child, who is an alcoholic. She will forever be in my heart and prayers. I believe God had a hand in bringing this angel into our lives. I will be forever grateful for some light in our lives, at the darkest moments.
