Due to my conditions, I am house bound, which means I require a lot of attention. This translates to a huge and heavy work load for my wife, in addition to also raising our two-and-a-half-year-old son. My wife is my caregiver, and it's not easy for me to see how she struggles to take care of me, our son and everything else around the house.
Meeting Nurse Ruth has been a blessing in disguise. A true angel, that I can say from my heart, has brought us peace. Her warm and caring attitude has allowed me to better cope with some of my worse conditions and has been a huge support for my wife. She has become the go to person regarding my conditions, setting up appointments, refilling my medication, and solving just about anything regarding the VA. She knows my entire medical record, medications, and appointments. She is very kind and takes the time to explain the facts about the medicines and treatments, something that makes us feel very safe. She is overall a very pleasant person with a huge heart.
Ruth's love and dedication to her job reflect in everything she does and more importantly how she does it. She has always gone above and beyond for us. No words can describe what Nurse Ruth means to us, how she has changed our lives, the dozen or so times she called me before an appointment to calm me down, how she has supported my wife and how she has become part of our family.
Ruth is an example to follow as a nurse, as a person, and as a friend.
