Allison Morehouse is the night time charge nurse with a team-oriented approach to nursing and a sixth sense for a patient's changing condition. Allison assists the nurses with difficult IV sticks, passing medications and following up on general needs of others. Nothing is too big for Allison; her ER & critical care background allows for an incredibly insightful nurse. Allison has no problem calling a physician, on-call RT or pharmacist when a patient's condition is worsening.
One of the things that I appreciate about Allison is she strives to provide the safest, most thorough and efficient care, while not being afraid to stand up for what is right even in difficult situations. She not only holds herself to a high standard but also those around her and that makes for the best patient outcomes. I believe that Alison's clinical knowledge, patient-centered care, and continued commitment to excellence are many reasons why she is deserving of the DAISY Award.
