Kate was the perfect blend of professionalism and yet easy going so that you feel comfortable right away. She always answered any questions and was attentive to every need, from something to drink to knowing the IV and catheter were being changed and charted. She showed compassion and respect to the family and visitors and never made us feel like she was "put out" by anything! She had a student nurse and was such an excellent teacher. She was patient, explanatory, and was just cheerful through every circumstance. It was evident she is of the highest caliber in her profession. Nothing she couldn't handle and/or question she did not know. Kate seemed to be very well liked by her fellow staff. They worked together to get everything done. She also showed a "light" side and made anything she was doing look "enjoyable" even though we know it was not. Excellence follows whatever Kate does. If all nurses could see Kate in action and model after her it would create an amazing environment. Time here at Harris was made so much better because Kate was present and involved in my care.
