A patient's daughter said, "Every opportunity and interaction demonstrated genuine care, compassion, and empathy."
The daughter, who is also a Beverly Hospital staff member, stayed with her elderly father day and night during his hospitalization. Noting that her father's illness made interacting with him particularly challenging, she said, "Taylor seemed to know just how to approach him, and he responded so well to her. She genuinely showed concern and caring, and her quiet, supportive manner was received so well." She went on to say that Ocko empathized with her father's frustrations and softly suggested what she could do to make things better. She also provided clean linens and a pillow each night to make the daughter's overnight stays more comfortable.
"This young professional has the very 'something special' that I personally always look for in our new nurses - the heart of nursing and the genuine love for the profession.
