There were numerous areas that Charles was such a help. He was very thorough when he was performing his nursing duties for my husband. He was very careful to keep from hurting him whenever possible. Many times he was helpful when I needed something. All I had to do was mention it and he would be there. His empathy was very noticeable as he observed my husband's condition was deteriorating. He brought extra warm blankets when my husband became chilled.
When my husband elected to discontinue treatment and asked to be kept comfortable, Charles was no longer his nurse, but he came down to the new unit we were moved to several times throughout the day. He even brought a small bouquet of flowers to have in my husband's room. When my husband passed, Charles even came to the funeral. I believe he went well above and beyond anything that one would ever expect from a nurse. He became a friend of our whole family and I miss seeing his sweet, kind face with his special little smile. God will bless Charles for his selfless service.
