#1 Taees is a great team player, helps with a smile, is always calm & composed and makes her team members relaxed in an emergency. She is a great person and charge nurse. She takes the lead in calling doctors, and helping with patients & families. Today was hectic. We started with a RRT at 0800, followed with my patient having chest pain while getting a Lexiscan. I asked Taees if my patient can get a nitro drip here on 2 East, as the physician was ordering it stat. Taees, followed up on the policy, came into the room & stood there to help me & the doctor with the change in condition of my patient. She got the necessary equipment ready, & was able to let the physician know we needed a transfer to ICU. In between all this a 2nd RRT was called & Taees made her way there. It took her some time to help the other RRT, but she made sure she kept coming in to my patient's room & checking on him. She spoke to him when I had to step out. She helped him stay calm. He was anxious & did not want to transfer to ICU. Taees used her calm, charm & helped him understand his diagnosis & the necessity to transfer to ICU. He agreed to go to ICU for further observation. Even when she is stressed and over-worked she will always take a few minutes to answer questions, patiently. All RN`s on the floor can come & talk to her about their day & Taees is always asking if she can help in any way. Her calm demeanor (on such crazy days) makes her a true team leader.

#2 I have known Taees since she hired me on the unit few years ago. Happy to say, she is now working as a charge nurse on the unit with us. For many reasons, I nominate her for the DAISY award. She has been an outstanding charge nurse/leader supporting the staff, being hands on with the patients, and excellent team player whom I enjoy working with. You always know a situation will be resolved with her assistance when you have matters you can`t handle by yourself. She has an amazing heart of care she not only displays on the patients, but to her staff members. I can say with confidence she really has a compassion heart not only as a charge nurse, but as a supportive team leader.

#3 Taees always provides support for staff nurses so they can proceed with daily critical needs for their patients. She is consistently supportive, especially when the unit becomes chaotic. Nursing staff know their day will OK, when Taees is charge, because we know she will diffuse an escalation of any situation. She always takes time to ask if you need help, and helps even when you don`t ask just by observing your situation. As charge nurse, she leads an example of how nursing care should be carried out. Never too busy to assist a nurse or patient in need; and more than anything, nothing is below her. Compassion and care with portrayed with action instead of words. She encourages teamwork with her positive work ethics, and actions. She an exemplar of patient advocacy and a valuable asset of Saddleback Memorial`s patients as well as nursing staff.
