I came to Boone Outpatient to have laparoscopic gallbladder surgery performed. At age 71, I will admit I was quite nervous and I was shaking when I was taken back to the surgery preparation room by J.D. She began explaining everything to me step by step and her levels of confidence and knowledge, as well as her great rapport with her patients, came shining through. My blood pressure skyrocketed, and it upset me but J.D. calmed me down and eventually, the blood pressure dropped to a much more palatable number; I can't tell you how less concerned and apprehensive I was. Her skills in setting up the IV were wonderful; it is so nice to have a nurse who can put in a line the first time without having to redo it time and time again. My experience at Boone Hospital was made better by and because of nurses like J.D. and I am thankful for her care.
