... Nancy is caring, compassionate and always provides the best care possible for her patients. She is often asked for by name, which is amazing considering how many nurses our patients come in contact with on a daily basis.

Recently, Nancy cared for patient who is blind and had to have an above-the-knee amputation. Understandably the patient was very anxious and nervous about her upcoming surgery. Nancy took the time to stop in and talk with the patient every day prior to her surgery to explain what was happening and why. This helped ease the patient's mind considerably and helped her cope with how to resume her life after surgery. Nancy is able to explain things professionally yet in a way patients can understand. She is also great with other staff members. She is very approachable. Nancy currently teaches clinicals for NDSU on our med/surg unit. I am very grateful our future nurses have such a great example to follow!
