I would like to nominate Susan for this award. Not only do I have the pleasure of working with her,but had her as a nurse who cared for me when I was a patient in 2003. I had to have bowel surgery and was a patient at Delray before working there. Susan was one of my nurses who I will never forget. Having just moved to Florida and not knowing anyone, she made my family and I feel very much at home. She was caring and compassionate, an exceptional nurse going above and beyond her role. I then had the opportunity to work with her on Surg Ortho. I recently had some health issues while at work and Susan was always showing concern, asking how I was feeling, if I needed help with anything, etc. and geniunely meaning it. When I had to be sent home early, Susan was right there for me. She volunteerily took my assignment (on top of her own) and all of my unfinished work. She made me literally dropped everything to go home. She was amazing and I know she would have done the same thing for everyone else in a similar situation. She's the type of person who goes out of her way to help others without being asked. I was so appreciative for what she did for me that nominating her for this award was the least I could do.
