Kelly has been a special friend to my daughter, M, for months. She has gone out of her way to understand M's unique needs and how she communicates them. With 150 plus days of being inpatient, being cooperative is difficult. Kelly understands this and does everything possible to accommodate M. The small efforts she makes are really big things to M. Getting a manual blood pressure cuff so M can stay comfortable on the couch seems like a small thing, but to a child who has been poked and prodded so much, not having to move to make things easier for someone else is huge. Kelly has also been a friend to M. Being isolated in many ways is harder than chemo. Kelly has made us room decorations, special signs, and headed up the birthday party fun when M had to celebrate her 7th while inpatient. And for us, M's parents, Kelly was here for us when M relapsed for the second time and helped us prepare to take her home. Expediting the tasks that had to be done, helping us think of supplies we might need and trying to keep M happy through the process. Kelly goes out of her way to make things easier for the patient and family. We love Nurse Kelly and thank her for her expert care.
