My wife died on the 3rd floor after a short illness. She had many wonderful nurses and doctors, but on the last day of her life, her nurse was Mandy Slates. I have spent many hours in hospitals across this country, from Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, University of Michigan hospital, Billings Clinic, and University of Arizona hospital, but this young lady was one of the finest nurses that I have ever had the privilege of meeting. She was kind, compassionate, and very professional in the face of a difficult situation. Mandy deserves more praise than this simple letter can convey.
