Amber is the most dedicated nurse I know. She is an advocate for her patients and their families. Recently when my father passed away at the Chambersburg Hospital, she was there to comfort me through this trying time. She went above and beyond what I could ever have asked for in a nurse and never left my side.
When I went into the hospital to visit my father, I spent all morning with him. He was eventually transported to the CCU as his health quickly declined. When I was asked to leave the room so they could intubate him, Amber followed me and sat with me in the waiting room, so I wasn't alone.
Amber made sure to explain each procedure and let me know what was going on with my father's health. There were many complications before my father passed. He needed dialysis, blood transfusions, and even CPR. Through all of this, I never felt that I had to go through this most difficult time alone because Amber was there with me. She was there comforting me both emotionally and physically. Amber was attentive and made sure I had uninterrupted time with my father.
As I remained by his side through it all, she never left mine. She held me, prayed with me, and let me cry in her arms. Amber is someone who took the time to make sure that I was able to feel comforted during the death of my father.
After Amber's shift had ended, she stayed after to sit and talk with my family, so we had a better understanding of my dad's condition. When I look back on the day my father passed away at Chambersburg Hospital, I can find hope knowing he was under the care of the best nurses. Amber touched my heart and I know anyone that has her as a nurse will be provided with the love and compassion, I felt from her.
I will never forget the impact she had on my life.
