From a patient's family:
My daughter Amanda had the misfortune for the need of your facility and was admitted. After carrying her child for 21 weeks, he was diagnosed with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. This is a 3,000 to 1 odds deformith that allows the lower organs to flow into the upper chest cavity. His case was severe. With a very heavy heart the parents after medical advice to terminate. The decision was clearly the hardest of their young lives. From the joy of bringing home a sonogram during Christmas to share with the family, then to discover two weeks later of this deformity was extremely difficult to endure.
If not for Pam, our sad experience would never have been realized the wonders that could have been. She was very careful on how she talked to us, being extermely respectful of our horrible loss. She called the baby by name every time. She also gently suggested that when the time came we may want to see and hold him to say good bye. When he finally came we were delighted in meeeting him, holding him, kissing him, loving him and even taking pictures with him. We will all cherish those five hours with our little one and all because of a loving RN named Pam.
