Megan cared for a patient who was vacationing at a local campground with her family. This patient experienced an unexpected illness, a trip to PRMC, an extensive surgery which resulted in a lengthy stay! While in the hospital the patient's family resided at the campground finishing out their vacation but quickly realized they would not have enough money to stay at the campground or to stay anywhere else for that matter as vacation was over. Megan listened to this patient's concerns and reached out to the social worker for help. The social worker tried to offer solutions for the family but the patient didn't feel that they would work. Megan took it upon herself to work on this for the patient and was able to pay for the campground site with some help from her fellow coworkers! The compassion that Megan showed to this patient and family will surely leave a lasting impression! Megan truly went above and beyond.
