Ricky has been the most helpful nurse to me during this very scary and upsetting time. He realized how bothered and upset my mother and I became after speaking with Dr. A. Dr. A didn't quite answer some of the questions that worried both of us and after her visit, Ricky came back in the room, sat down at our eye level, and asked me and then my mother what our concerns were. He was able to speak to us in laymen's terms. He took the time, despite being busy, to answer each of our questions and explain what the doctor said or meant.
When I expressed how afraid I was with everything I had to do being a newly diagnosed diabetic, he assured me that he would not let me go home until I was comfortable, and he would show me. I cannot express how much I appreciated his reassurance and much-needed support. He made me feel this would be manageable and I'd be okay. I was terrified before speaking to him and now I feel so much calmer and hopeful.
He not only made a huge difference in my stay, I am quite sure I will never forget what he said but more importantly, his caring and taking the time with me...and my mom. He truly made a difference in my life during such a terrifying time. I can't tell you just how grateful I am for him. He is truly an exceptional nurse!
