I had the pleasure of becoming a patient of T and Karen on Monday. The experience that brought me to them was not pleasurable but the moment I met them in the preop area my horrible experience changed. I presented to them with the diagnosis of a perforated appendix needing emergency surgery, I was scared and in pain. I was also alone because my military husband was out of state. Karen and T treated me like family both pre and post-op. it is difficult to describe the words how amazing these ladies are as RNs and humans. They both went out of their way to assure me that I was in good hands and safe. They answered every one of my many questions about my diagnosis and surgery and they did so with patience and knowledge. They both went above and beyond to prepare me before surgery and keep me comfortable after surgery. Then, the next day, knowing I had no husband and/or family to visit me they both stopped at the end of their shifts to check on me! I strongly encourage Banner Estrella to recognize both these nurses in some way. People like Karen and T are few far between. Banner Estrella is incredibly lucky to have both of these women as part of your system they have patients feeling empowered cared for, and comfortable. Simply because they both truly care.
