I nominate an exceptional, compassionate and outstanding nurse named Erin Dolan for her care and treatment of my husband and my family. My husband was a patient from August 9, 2014 until August 25, 2014. He had many exceptional nurses and CNA's.
The most extraordinary and exceptional nurse was Erin Dolan. She took such wonderful, compassionate and extraordinary care of my husband. She made sure I was updated to his care and needs. She made sure she took him for walks to try to help with his physical therapy as he was mostly confined to his chair and his bed. When he was there he was mostly on a bed/chair alarm which was so frustrating to him. He could not move his head to tell me when I called, what his O2 level was without the alarm going off. Erin was a huge part of his discharge as she took the time to be a nurse and care giver to him. I was very upset before Erin took over his care, I was never being updated. I would sit there from early morning until night and some or most days I never saw a doctor. Erin would come into the room with that great big smile of hers and I was so thankful we had her for his nurse. She truly is a an extraordinary nurse who loves her job and her patients. Erin knew that by getting Ray up and walking around as she monitored his O2 levels it would help get him home and back to feeling better about himself. He hated being stuck in that chair all day.
I would also like to mention how wonderful Teresita a CNA on Ravdin 6, was to us. I complained that Ray had not had a shower in all of the time he was there, she offered to help him get a shower and she gave him exceptional care also. She knew he was a jokester and she would talk and joke back with him.
Unfortunately my husband passed away September 24, 2014 from his lung cancer. It was a huge shock to us as we were told it could be months to a year. He was not home an entire month. We are all still grieving and miss him so much. But the picture of Erin, my husband and my Grandson make me smile as that was a very happy and precious moment for us. Unfortunately there were not too many after that day.
Please recognize Erin for her wonderful, excellent, compassionate caring and outstanding nursing care she shows to her patients and their families. We appreciated everything she did for us and also Teresita.
