Over the past year, I have at least once a day asked Camilla to do something that would accommodate a veteran and never has she refused. Whether it is an eye acuity test, ear lavage, medication injection, checking a veteran in for another nurse, etc. I have even seen Camilla drop her stuff (while walking out the door to leave work for the day) to give a veteran a flu shot. If someone is in the waiting room after business hours, Camilla ensures that the veteran's needs have been taken care of before leaving. No matter what the questions, she takes time to answer it without making any of the MSA's feel like a burden. It doesn't matter what you are asking Camilla to do, if she is able to help, she does - if not, she directs you to the person who can.
Camilla truly loves the veterans as much as they love her. She is often asked for by name from a veteran, and whether the veteran is in her panel or not - she helps them. She is an asset to Primary Care and it shows in her work everyday. Camilla truly deserves this award.
