Karen Plumley demonstrated the true essence of what I think a nurse should be. In addition to her professionalism and positive attitude she went out of her way to make sure all my needs were met both physically and emotionally.

Karen was compassionate and took time to visit with me. She eased my fears and anxiety after having my back surgery. By her sharing some of her life stories with me and listening to my own, we developed a special connection. Karen established a positive relationship that helped me focus on my goal of healing and not so much on my discomfort. Through her encouragement I was able to achieve things I was very reluctant to try. She communicated with me in a respectful manner, answering all my trivial questions and concerns. She gave me emotional support, as well as quality care, when I needed it the most.

Karen definitely demonstrated excellent clinical care and gave me the attention I needed. The timing of my surgery prevented friends and family from being able to come visit me in the hospital, so the extra attention I received from Karen meant a great deal. She reviewed my plan of care and acted accordingly. Her extraordinary attitude is a testimony that whoever is under her care can expect a successful recovery. I certainly felt the healing touch through her kindness and gentle hands and spirit. Karen genuinely cared!
