My mother was a patient in your intensive care ward. I am writing this letter because I want to commend a particular nurse in ICU, Ana Ugalde. She has a heart as big as Florida. Ana went far, far beyond what would be considered normal, professional care of a patient. She treated my mother with such tender love - back rubs, seeking out special foods that she thought my mother would find appetizing, joking with her (mom was a real character and even knowing she was dying, she would tease Ana all the time) to keep her spirits up. She would come in, even when mom wasn't her patient on certain days, kiss her on the forehead, tell her she loved her and mom (and we who saw the love in Ana's face) believed her.

Ana wasn't only kind to mom, she was an angel of caring and support to my sister, brother, nieces and me as well. We will never forget her.

Your hospital is blessed beyond measure to have this angel of mercy on your staff.
