When we arrived in our room, a vitals check was done on our baby. They told us about a murmur but said everything was fine and left. Erika then came in to do her initial vitals. While examining my baby, she noticed that the pulse was below normal. She then notified the doctors to come and assess. Two different doctors came in and checked, one said she heard a murmur and the other said there was no murmur and that everything was fine with the baby. Erika did not like the fact that the baby's heart rate was not being discussed as an issue, so she went to get a monitor to verify the baby's pulse. After being told to change monitors and being ignored by the doctors, she finally gets the doctors to send the baby to the NICU. When we arrived there our baby had a pulse steady in the sixties and a temperature of 95. I have to say thank you to this caring nurse, who remembered her training and stood up for my child when she was in need.
