Patricia has been amazing with my brother. She taught him in the pre-op back class and assessed him then as needing a little individualized care. My brother is an Army Vet who served for 26 years mostly combat and suffered several combat injuries. He suffers from PTSD that is usually in check but due to fear of this very needed surgery on his spine, the PTSD is out!
Patricia anticipated his arrival and planned for his special needs. Patricia was amazingly patient and spent quite a bit of extra time with him. She never became frustrated even when he asked the same question many times. Patricia made sure she stopped by before she went home even though I am sure she wanted to go home to her own family.
My brother is actually a functioning working vet despite his PTSD and Patricia set an example of non-judgmental care that we saw in all of the nurses. We appreciate her leadership and assistance to get my brother back to his normal life.
