I arrived at the hospital at 5 am for my surgery and was extremely anxious. I met with Marissa and she started prepping me for surgery. Soon other patients arrived and the unit became very busy. Marissa could tell that I was nervous and stopped what she was doing and talked to me in an effort to calm my anxiety. Marissa was very sincere and comforting.
Her simple act of stopping what she was doing and taking a few moments to talk to me made a big impression. I very much appreciated the human touch that she provided.
