My husband's ailments are far too numerous to fit in this space! Suffice to say, he has seen more than his fair share of hospital stays, surgeries, procedures, and tests on just about every organ in his body. The latest diagnosis after a colonoscopy was colon cancer. We have met with many doctors and nurses who have been professional and given us good care. Not as many have stood apart from the rest with exceptional caring and compassion as Barbara Young. She was not only professional, but there is such an air of kindness about her that I wanted to take the time to go the extra mile for her as she did for us.
Barbara has been nursing for more than 40 years and still has a passion for her patients. Her genuine smile, calming nature, and healing touch go a long way in helping her patients and families feel safe and truly cared for. She is obviously respected by the other nurses and doctors and loved by her patients. My husband and I have noticed that the majority of health care professionals we have met are very capable at their job, but only a precious few are called to heal. This employee is one of the few!
I am happy to say that after chemo, my husband's cancer is currently in remission. He is scheduled for another colonoscopy in May and is almost looking forward to it... almost!
