My husband and I arrived at the ER. We would soon learn my husband was having a heart attack and eventually made his way to the Cath Lab for a stent. Jonathan was part of the team that was called in to assist with the stenting.
After the procedure, I was called back to the Cath Lab while my husband was recovering. Jonathan was at his bedside. His compassion was the first thing I noted while I was waiting to speak to the doctor. It didn't matter that it was now the middle of the night. Jonathan was attentive, professional and seemed really happy to help. He brought us up to MICU and made sure everyone was up to speed about what was going on in our world.
A few days later, my husband received his second stent. Jonathan arrived at the room for the second stent. Not only was I happy to see him, I saw it on my husband's face - he was relieved to see Jonathan as well. Jonathan greeted us like we were old friends. He remembered us, and with the same compassion, professionalism and caring demeanor, he got my husband through the second stent. He seemed to understand the impact this event had on my husband along with the MS he is dealing with.
Bottom line, Jonathan was a familiar face to my husband who at first, helped to save his life, spoke to him like a friend, and answered every question my husband had with knowledge and comfort. Jonathan helped ease my husband's fears. We never thought we would have gone through something like this. We are thankful to have had a nurse like Jonathan caring for us and wanted to make sure this committee also knows that Jonathan not only did his job, he did it remarkably. Thank you!
